Arrival guide · AKL
A lot of visitors collect a campervan or rental car at Auckland and start a road trip straight away. New Zealand's roads wind through areas with few towns, so loading routes and booking campsites while you have coverage makes a difference. An Auckland eSIM also helps if you stay in the city first, with an Uber to Viaduct Harbour, a ferry time to Waiheke Island, or directions to Ponsonby for dinner.
The AirportLink bus connects to trains at Puhinui station, and SkyBus coaches, taxis and ride-hailing serve central Auckland.
